Accounts Payable

An exciting opportunity to join a well-established, successful and expanding company has arisen with my client based in Cleckheaton. They are looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to provide support within the finance team. This is an extremely busy role which requires excellent attention to detail. This is a great position for someone who is looking to utilise their existing experience.

The duties will include:

  • Match stock purchase invoices and assess any price deviations and discrepancies
  • Manage the Quality Spreadsheets ensuring both are up to date and queries are chased up
  • Communicate with internal departments to solve queries in a timely manner
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure accounts are up to date
  • Ensure all invoices are up to date on a regular basis to meet month end deadlines
  • Check key supplier statements against supplier accounts, deal with any discrepancies and request copy invoices and credit notes where necessary
  • Open and distribute the post and match or file invoices accordingly
  • Manage the Vendor KPI’s on a monthly basis
  • Chase up outstanding proforma invoices
  • Photocopy foreign VAT invoices for Intrastat
  • Any other adhoc duties as and when required

Skills and experience required:

  • Experienced in an accounts environment, having had some previous purchase ledger knowledge.
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to understand multi-currencies, VAT elements
