The role of Project Manager is to ensure successful and profitable delivery of large-scale projects whilst also improving and maintaining relationships with key project partners. Aligning internal activity and supporting all areas of the company through the provision of transparency of progress: financials; KPIS; risk and relationships, to relevant managers.

Contract management

Oversee, manage and support 2 staff to consistently meet agreed processes enabling successful delivery of contracts. Accountable for achieving monthly and annual targets forecasting accurate delivery volumes and managing profile of activity to cope with fluctuations.

Communicating effectively, internally and externally, to guarantee smooth delivery. This will require sharing tracking on expected volumes of delivery in respect to contracted volumes, financial elements relating to costs and incomes from invoicing, allowing accurate planning with internal teams such as finance.

Make certain all external parties have the correct contracts and data sharing agreements in place and that all data is shared in line with GDPR requirements. Instigate appropriate governance to measure compliance to these elements.

Instigate robust, meaningful and regular reporting for all project partners and use the data to define trends in delivery and to better manage risk as well as highlighting future opportunities.

Deal with any operational issues quickly and professionally to allow consistent delivery of projects.

Client Management

Ensure clear lines of communication are maintained through regular and relevant engagement through meetings and conference calls with key project partners. Act as a fountain of knowledge for all project partners instilling trust leading to further future partnerships. Ensure key relationships are maintained to allow for future development on the basis of current successful delivery.

Business Development Support

Support the Business Development manager in their role to bring new business into the company by assisting with proposals, tender applications and by keeping an ear to the ground for new opportunities within the industry.

Continue to develop processes which allow the team to develop efficiencies within their workload and increase maximum potential.

Offer support when new projects begin by ensuring all contracts and data sharing agreements are in place, KPIs are agreed and recorded by all parties. Projects are handed over successfully to the teams ensuring they have the correct tools to do the job effectively. Provide relevant internal teams with updates on new projects advising them of the impact it may have on departments.

Staff Management

Ensure staff within the team have the correct tools and knowledge to carry out their role successfully. Encourage a culture of success by providing robust and relevant feedback and working collaboratively to improve performance, resulting in successful delivery of contracts and continued development of staff.

Provide constant support to staff whilst allowing them to evolve and grow within their role. Maintain strong leadership through providing: clear milestones, clear communication, regular updates on their performance and goals and supporting them through difficult areas of their role.

Person Specification.

  • Numerical, detail orientated – experience of working with budgets, forecasts, cash flow.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to nurture and build relationships with clients and communicate with internal departments effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
  • Experience of working within a fast paced environment
