An excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts assistant to join this well-established company based in Normanton. You will be supporting the Finance Manager and assisting other members of the management team. Working within a small team, you will work together to perform accounting and administrative tasks.

This position is ideal for someone who wants the opportunity to complete their accountancy qualifications to progress and grow with a business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Raising of purchase orders
  • Matching purchase invoices to PO’s and authorisation through Xero
  • Assist and resolve supplier queries
  • Reconciliation of purchase ledger statements
  • Preparation of supplier payment runs and reconciling payments
  • Update and maintain supplier and subcontractor database
  • Input of weekly timesheets for staff and agency on to Excel spreadsheets
  • Maintenance of holiday and absence log
  • Processing CIS returns and preparing CIS returns for HMRC
  • Reconciliation of monthly Barclaycard statement to receipts and input onto Xero
  • Processing of expenses, mileage claims and petty cash
  • Reception cover when needed
  • Filing, photocopying, scanning and laminating
  • Any other adhoc duties as and when required

Essential skills:

  • Be proactive
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills
  • Sufficient IT experience including Excel
  • Be an excellent team player
  • Experience working within a fast-paced environment
