Our client has an exciting opportunity for an accounts and audit manager to join their busy team. This role primarily consists of managing a portfolio of audit and non audit clients and support senior managers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage resources within the planned timeframe and budget
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure a holistic service is provided
  • Liaise with clients before, during and after audit and accounts assignments
  • Allocate work to other team members
  • Provide training to other team members to ensure they are capable of performing the tasks allocated to them
  • Provide support as a trainee mentor for those studying for exams
  • Prepare and review monthly/quarterly management accounts, VAT returns and year end financial statements for SME’s, sole traders and partnerships
  • Perform annual statutory audits on SME’s accounts
  • Prepare forecasts
  • Provide advice to clients
  • Manage client fees/billing
  • Technical competence of our CCH audit automation, CCH accounts production software, XERO and QuickBooks software, ISA’s, FRS’s and Companies Act legislation, Charity SORP, Academy’s Financial Handbook

Essential skills:

  • ACCA Ethical standards
  • Able to manage people and resolve problems
  • Communicate well in a professional, friendly, calm manner
  • Keep abreast of changes to legislation within the audit and accountancy industry
  • Plan and arrange own CPD requirements
  • Be flexible and ensure delivery of service in good time
  • Present technical information in a non-technical way
  • Work both individually and within a team
  • Build effective team relationships and be approachable
